Article 1.-S.D.Correcaminos organizes the 21st Valencia Half Marathon, on Sunday 23rd October 2011.
Article 2.- The 21st Valencia Half Marathon, an urban road race of 21,097.5 metres is open to all athletes who wish to participate, whether federated or not, including foreign athletes who meet RFEA and IAAF rules, provided they are older than 18 years on the day of the race, and up to a maximum of 10,000 runners The urban road circuit is certified by AIMS/RFEA/IAAF, and there will be panels marking each kilometre. The event is included in the IAAF International Calendar.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This event belongs to the official calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA), and by entering the race, the runner expressly gives consent for his data to be passed on to the Runner’s Licence programme of the mentioned Federation, and to the companies participating in said programme for their promotional campaigns. Being a holder of the Runner’s Licence guarantees that the runner participates covered by an insurance policy for civil responsibility and accidents in any event of the official RFEA calendar in which he/she takes part. Article 3.- The race will start at 9:30 a.m. and close at 12:00 p.m., this being the maximum official time permitted.
Runners will be able to access the start area according to their forecast finishing time.
The organization will provide a cloakroom service at the start/finish area and chemical WCs will also be available here and at km.10.
Article 4.- Entries are open from 21st February to 10th October 2011, inclusive.

Telephone : 96.346.07.07, Fax. 96.346.36.35, from Monday to Friday, 09:30 to 13:30 and 17:00 to 20:30, by filling in the corresponding form and making payment in cash or by bank transfer to account number 0182.0500.76.0016911009 open in the BBVA bank. In the observations field of said transfer you must include the name and surname of the runner, and with your entry you must provide justification of payment.
Entries sent by fax must be confirmed by telephone. Entries will not be considered valid until the reception and acceptance of the data and payment justification. The organization accepts no responsibility for losses or delays in ordinary mail.
- Entries can also be made in the official shops in Valencia: Bikila, Evasión Running, Runner´s World, Deportes Mario and Passatge Sport; and in Castellon : 42 y pico.
The organisation reserves the right to close entries when it considers it necessary.
CLUB ENTRIES:
In order to opt for the prize in the category of federated teams, in addition to the individual entry for each runner, it is necessary to fill out a specific form for this purpose with the list of runners forming the team and the personal data of the person responsible from the club in question.

- Entries outside this time limit (if available): 25 €
Article 5.- 50% of the entry fee will be refunded to the runner only in the event of injury or illness, and by presenting a medical certificate at the club’s offices (S.D. Correcaminos- Arzobispo Fabián y Fuero, 14b, 46009 Valencia- Spain) before 30th September 2010. Any refund would be made after the race has been held. No entry fee money will be refunded in any other circumstances.

TROPHIES
Article 7.- Trophies will be given to the first 5 male athletes and first 5 female athletes in the general classification and to the first 3 athletes in each category.
Club classifications :
Trophy to the first 3 federated teams, calculated by adding the times achieved by the first three federated athletes from the same club. Federated runners will not be allowed to represent a different team that registered at the Athletics Federation, and they must compete wearing their team kit.
The 21st Valencia Half Marathon will be valid as the Security Forces Championship (local police, national police, military personnel, civil guard, prison service personnel, port authority personnel, fire department personnel, etc.). There will be trophies for the first three male athletes and first three female athletes classified in this Championship.
Any trophy not collected on the day of the race will be kept by the Organisation, understanding that the right to said trophies has been renounced if they have not been collected from S.D. Correcamino’s club offices by 4th November 2011.
PRIZES
Article 8. The following cash prizes have been established:

For the first 5 male and first 5 female national federated athletes, the following CASH PRIZES have been established:

Prizes shown require a time performance under 1:08 (men) and 1:18 (women). If the performances are above these times, the cash prizes will be reduced by 50%.
THESE PRIZES ARE ACCUMULATIVE.
All prizes in cash are subject to withholding tax according to Spanish Law, with the amount to be paid by bank transfer or banker’s draft, once the times have been officially recognised and the results of the anti-doping controls performed have been received from the RFEA.
Cash prizes shall not be paid to athletes finishing above 1:12:00 (men) and 1:30:00 (women).

Article 9.- Race numbers and chips will be given exclusively at the RUNNER’S FAIR, which will be located at Dock Shed No.4, Valencia Port, (Tinglado Nº 4, Calle Ingeniero Manuel Soto), on Friday 21st October (from 16:30 to 20:00) and on Saturday 22nd October (from 10:00 to 20:30). No race numbers or chips will be handed out on the day of the race. An identity document (passport, National Identity Card) is required in order to collect the race number/chip. If you cannot collect the race number/chip in person, you may give a signed authorisation to a third party along with the necessary documentation (photocopy of identity document and justification of payment).
The race will be timed by the FACV Judges Committee and through the MYLAPS system.
There will be time controls at various points along the route. Only those runners who participate in the race with the MYLAPS chip provided by the organisation , or one indicated in the entry form, which must be also be a MYLAPS system chip, will appear in the classification. In any case, the runner must check that the chip works properly at the MYLAPS stand at the Runner’s Fair.
The race number/chip provided by the organisation must be returned in the event of withdrawal or non-participation in the event.
Article 10.- Race numbers are personal and non-transferable. They should be worn on the chest, without being manipulated or folded. The chip is also personal and non-transferable, and must be placed behind the race number. Non-compliance with this article may result in disqualification.
The event Judges and the Organisation reserve the right to disqualify athletes for the following reasons:
- Any athlete who does not does not wear his/her race number clearly visible
- Any athlete who manipulates his/her race number or who transfers it to another runner
- Any athlete who shows signs of a bad physical condition.
- Any athlete who does not complete the full race distance.

- Any athlete who has altered his identity card or federation file data.
- Any athlete who does not provide the Organisation with the required information.
- Any athlete who violates any other FACV, RFEA or IAAF rules.
It is obligatory for federated athletes to compete wearing the kit of their corresponding club, and they may be sanctioned for non-compliance with this rule.
The Organisation will not permit non-registered runners or those without a race number or chip, and will remove them in order to protect officially-registered runners.
Furthermore, the race organisation or Local Police officials are empowered to withdraw from the race any runner who exceeds the time limit set by the organisation at each Km point by more than 5 minutes.
Disqualified runners will not be considered for prizes or trophies.

Article 11.-The circuit will be clearly marked by the organisation. There will be three water stations, approximately at kilometres 5, 10 and 15, there will be also a special water station at the finish area.
Between these water stations there will also be sponge stations. Runners who wish to use their own drinks must provide them to the Organisation at the Runner’s Fair between 19:00 and 21:00 on Saturday 22nd October, duly identified with their race number and indicating the kilometre point in which they wish to pick them up, with all this information clearly written.
Articulo 12.- The Medical services and ambulances coordinated by the Correcaminos Medical Team will be located at the following points: at kilometres 5, 10 and 15, close to every water station and closing the race together with the race support car.
All runners entering the race are obliged to fill out the back of their race number with their personal data: name, surname, telephone number in the event of emergency, if they have any medical problem (allergies, special attention, etc) or are under any specific treatment, as well as their blood type.
Article 13.- As the 21st Valencia Half Marathon is included in the FACV and RFEA calendar, a doping control test will be performed. Doping control is mandatory, and any runner refusing to undergo said test will be automatically disqualified from all corresponding categories and prizes. All athletes undergoing said tests and who qualify for cash prizes must wait until the doping control tests are available before receiving the prizes.
Article 14.-The only vehicles authorized to follow the race are those designated by the organisation. For safety reasons, it is completely forbidden to participate pushing any type of wheeled vehicle (children’s pushchair or similar), to cross the finish line with children or follow runners by motorcycle, bicycle, skates or any another vehicle. Local Police and event judges will have express orders to remove them from the circuit in order to avoid accidents.
Article 15.- Claims should be directed verbally to the Race Judge, within 30 minutes of the preliminary results being published. If these claims are rejected, a written claim may be presented to the Appeal Judges together with a 100€ deposit that will be returned if the resolution is favourable. If there is no Appeal Judge, then the Race Judge’s decision will be final.
Article 16.-All participants, by entering the race, declare their knowledge and acceptance of the present Race Regulations and the Responsibility Defence Deposition and Data Protection Document. In the event of doubt, the criteria of the Organisation will prevail.
Responsibility Defence Deposition and Data Protection Document
By the mere fact of registering for the race, the participant declares the following: "I am in an optimum state of health to participate in the Valencia Half Marathon. Furthermore, I hold the Organization, sponsors or o ther participating institutions exempt of any responsibility for any accident or injury that I may suffer before, during and/or after the mentioned sports event, renouncing from this moment any legal action against any of said institutions.
During the development of the competition I will contribute as far as possible with the Organization, in order to avoid personal accidents. Furthermore, I authorize the Organization to make advertising use of photos, videos and any another type of audiovisual material in which I may appear, accepting the publication of my name in the classification of the event, in the mass media and/or Internet, without expecting any payment, compensation or reward for this concept.”
Article 17.- By registering for the Valencia Half Marathon, the runners give consent for Investigación y Desarrollo de Iniciativas Empresariales S. L, ADIDAS and S.D. Correcaminos, by themselves or with other third organisations, to automatically use their personal data exclusively for sports, promotional or commercial purposes.
In accordance with Organic Law 15/1999 of December 13th, of Personal Data protection, the participant has the right to access this information and modify or delete it. To do this they will need to send a request to S.D. Correcaminos, (C/ Arzobispo Fabián y Fuero, 14- 46009 Valencia).
Furthermore, and in accordance with the sporting, promotional, distribution and operational interests of the Valencia Half Marathon worldwide ( reproduction of photographs of the event, publication of classification lists, etc) through any medium ( Internet, advertising, etc) and without any time limit, the registered participants expressly give the Organisation the right to reproduce the name , surname, position achieved in the general classification and the category of the participant, the category, the sports result obtained, and their image.
The organization reserves its right to make any changes it may consider necessary in the present regulations. Any such changes must be published on the event webpage as well as in the information provided to the runner.
FINAL CONSIDERATION: Any aspect not specified in the present Regulations will be governed by the General Competition Rules of the FACV, RFEA and IAAF currently in force.
